RE: Hybrid tow vehicles?

Here is my thinking. Most of us who own 3/4 and 1 tons do so for a combination of towing and other purposes. In my case my truck becomes my daily driver for work and I rack up over 30k a year much of it running from jobsite to jobsite which would be mostly stop and go. In my case the fuel savings would be huge for daily driving. I would imagine that many people are in my boat and there would be a large market for a hybrid 3/4 - 1 ton. My around town mileage with my F250 is high 14s low 15s mpg. Highway is much better but if my work trucks could see a 20% or more improvement in around town mileage, that would be huge. Would love to know if there is anything in the works.

Hybrid tow vehicles?

I recently saw a show about the Peterbilt company. They are starting to make a hybrid heavy duty and medium duty truck for commercial purposes. Does anyone know if any of the domestic automobile companies are working on 3/4 or 1 ton hybrids????? I read on Peterbilt's website that their medium duty trucks get 30-40% better mileage than their standard diesel counterparts. Wouldn't that be sweet!
